Scope of Work under Comprehensive Maintenance Contract (CMC) for Weighbridge

1. Preventive Maintenance

  • Scheduled preventive maintenance visits as per mutually agreed frequency (monthly / quarterly).
  • Inspection and health check of complete weighbridge system including:
    • Platform structure, leveling, alignment and mechanical integrity
    • Load cells, mounting assemblies and check rods
    • Junction boxes, cabling, earthing and grounding system
    • Weighing indicator, display units and power supply
  • Cleaning of pit / platform area and removal of debris affecting accuracy.
  • Tightening, adjustment and minor corrections to ensure smooth and accurate operation.
  • Preventive measures to avoid breakdowns and improve system life.

 

2. Breakdown Maintenance

  • Attending breakdown calls during the contract period within the agreed response time.
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification to restore the weighbridge to normal working condition.
  • Replacement of defective components as covered under the CMC.
  • Emergency support during critical operational failures.

 

3. Technical Guidance & Support

  • Continuous technical guidance for correct operation and maintenance of the weighbridge.
  • Advisory support to the user’s team regarding:
    • Proper loading practices
    • Overload prevention
    • Daily / routine checks
  • Recommendations for system upgradation, safety improvements, and life enhancement of equipment.
  • Support during integration with software / printers / peripheral devices (where applicable).

 

4. Legal & Statutory Compliances

  • Technical assistance for Legal Metrology Department stamping / verification.
  • Preparation of the weighbridge for inspection, calibration readiness, and trial runs.
  • Coordination and support during statutory inspections.
  • Guidance on compliance with applicable rules and documentation requirements.
  • Statutory fees, government charges, and penalties (if any) shall be borne by the customer unless otherwise specified.

 

5. Manpower – Skilled & Unskilled Labour

  • Deployment of trained and experienced skilled technicians for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  • Provision of unskilled / helper labour for cleaning, handling, assistance during repairs and maintenance activities.
  • All manpower-related costs including wages, travel, supervision, and statutory compliances shall be included in the CMC.

 

6. Spare Parts

  • Supply and replacement of routine / standard spare parts, including but not limited to:
    • Electrical cables, connectors, glands
    • Junction box components and accessories
    • Minor electronic and mechanical parts
    • Fasteners, clamps, and consumables
  • All spares replaced shall be new, tested, and of OEM / OEM-equivalent quality.
  • Major components such as load cells, indicators, summing cards, or structural members shall be included or excluded as per agreed CMC terms and commercial conditions.

 

7. Tools & Tackles

  • Provision of all necessary tools and tackles required for maintenance and minor repairs, including:
    • Mechanical and electrical hand tools
    • Testing and diagnostic instruments
    • Handling and lifting tools for adjustments
  • Calibration and testing tools required for inspection support (excluding statutory calibration equipment of Legal Metrology).

 

8. Documentation & Reporting

  • Submission of service reports after each preventive and breakdown visit.
  • Maintenance history and observations for future reference.
  • Recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
