An S-Type Load Cell (also called S-Beam Load Cell) is a tension and compression type load sensor shaped like the letter “S”. It is designed to measure force or weight in both pull (tension) and push (compression) directions. It contains strain gauges mounted on a high-strength alloy steel or stainless steel body. When force is applied, the strain gauges detect deformation and convert it into an electrical signal proportional to the applied load.
